About The Movie – Baby John is an upcoming Hindi language Best Action Movie . The film is directed by Kales and the screenplay of the movie is also written by Kales . The film is produced by Jio Studios , Cine 1 Studios and A for Apple Productions . The film stars Varun Dhawan , Sania Malhotra , Jackie Shroff , Wamiqa  Gabbi and Keerthi Suresh in her first Hindi debut film . Baby John is a remake of director Atlee’s 2016 Tamil film Theri  , who was also the co-producer of the film .

About The Movie – In order to raise his daughter in a secure atmosphere, Baby John, a former police officer, fakes his death and goes into hiding. However, problems arises when Baby John’s enemies from the past attempt to harm Baby John’s daughter, forcing Baby John to confront his past in order to keep her safe.

Movie’s Production – In late April 2020, it was reported that Varun Dhawan was approached to play the lead role in the official Hindi remake of Theri (2016). It remained unclear, though, if the original film’s director, Atlee, would helm the project or assign the directorship to someone else. It is said that the actor and the director met in Mumbai in 2019 to explore the possibility of working together in the near future.

In March 2022, it was announced that production will start shortly for the project since Dhawan had apparently finished his consistent obligations. Atlee and Dhawan reportedly got together once more to complete the project. The partnership between the two was made public on March 19.

Instead of overseeing the project, tentatively dubbed VD18, It was disclosed that Atlee, in collaboration with Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios, will produce the film under his house A for Apple Productions. The project was given to Kales, the director of the 2019 techno-thriller movie Kee and a former assistant of Atlee. On February 5, 2024, the official title Baby John was revealed.

Filming – Principal photography commenced with an inaugural puja ceremony, of which video was released by the production house on 14 January 2024 – occasion of Makar Sankranti, and first schedule on 10 August 2023 in Mumbai. After Dhawan said on September 7 that he hurt his foot while filming, the project was put on hold , and it finally resumed on September 12.

Gabbi started recording her scenes on December 15 and the crew moved to a location close to Kerala. Filming was once more halted on the 23rd as a result of Dhawan’s recurrent injuries. Dhawan announced on social media on December 27 that the first schedule was over.

Casting – Janhvi Kapoor was reported to play the lead actress role, pairing opposite Varun for the second time after Bawaal (2023). Nevertheless, it was confirmed that Keerthy Suresh had taken the former’s place in her debut Hindi film. It was claimed that she would be paid ₹3 crore  to play Samantha again in the first movie.

Wamiqa Gabbi was chosen to play Amy Jackson once more. Jackie Shroff, who was recast as the late Mahendran, was chosen to play the primary adversary. Rajpal Yadav and Sheeba Chaddha were cast in key roles alongside Sanya Malhotra billed as a special appearance as prospective bride of Varun, recreating the role of Sunaina .

Music in the Movie – The music in the movie was composed by Thaman S , and it’s his first Hindi solo film .

Movie’s Release – The film was scheduled to be released on 31 May , but as of now it has got postponed .
